This was taken last year. Sagamore Hill was President Theodore Roosevelt’s home on Long Island. I’ve commented before on the traffic, and the drive to and from the house were not my favorite parts of the trip. However, this was definitely worth it. This is probably my favorite picture of Mike. He looks like he belongs here.

This was taken a few years ago. Mike and I went with Jim to a bunch of civil war battlefields, including Harper’s Ferry and Burnside’s Bridge. We happened upon this gentleman who was there as an extra in the sequel to Gettysburg. I forget if it’s called Killer Angels, or if that’s the book the movie was based on. Anyway, he agreed to pose for this shot. I kind of wish I’d shot it in black and white.
Update: Mike and I talked about this photo last night and he thinks they were shooting the prequel, Gods and Generals. Good thing his memory isn’t as bad as mine. Hopefully he can help me identify the rest of the negatives and photos so I can accurately post in the future!
Another update: Since my memory is so bad, I decided to include a link to some information about this site so you can learn a little history while you read my ramblings. http://www.brotherswar.com/Antietam-7.htm

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this picture before now. This was one of my favorite places from our last trip – Maine. We stopped for lunch near the beach (there’s a picture of my lunch somewhere – either this blog or Flickr). Then we drove a short way up the coast. Unfortunately we ran out of time and had to start back since Maine was kind of the end of the journey in that we couldn’t go any further east or north from there! Mike and I are planning another trip to Maine some day, but the Fourth Minnesota trip comes first. And then maybe Alaska… guess I should start saving some vacation days!
Update: Okay, how come no one pointed out that this is the second time I’ve posted this? Thousands of pictures to choose from, and I post the same one twice… honestly!

I was on my way to Ryan’s this afternoon, and I came across a bunch of people stopped on the bridge off of Highway 13. At first I thought there was something wrong, but once I got to the other side I realized they had all stopped to capture the beautiful fall colors. So, naturally I had to pull over and grab my camera, too!
