August 2008

This was taken three years ago, in front of Graceland in Memphis. Mike and I have been here three times and every time I’m surprised at how small the house is. The property is large, but the house itself – not so much. I was also surprised by the outside. I thought it would look more like Loretta Lynn’s house (see previous post).

If you’ve never been to Graceland, I highly encourage you to visit. It’s totally stuck in the 60s!

This was taken three years ago. This is the home of Loretta Lynn in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. I’m not a big country fan, although I do like some of the classic stuff, like Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. On this trip, we also went to Dollywood, which I thought I would hate but I didn’t – in fact I loved it!

The most interesting thing about this tour was the tour guide. We overheard after we’d been through the house that he was in fact Loretta’s grandson. No wonder he knew so much…

This was taken three years ago when we went through Washington DC with Mike’s family. I just like the design of the building.

This was taken back in 1992. I think this was the weekend I surprised my Mom with a long weekend visit to help her peel wallpaper and paint. We did find some time to sightsee. But I don’t recall exactly where this was taken. Perhaps Bandon. I really liked it there!

The original photo was taken on the trip last year.  This is Flatbush.  Claudia did her photo magic and made it look like a miniature train set.  I like this better than the original so I decided to post it.  I wish I had half her creative talent!
